Birth Support!
After your initial consultation we will get your 2 prenatal visits set up. During these visits we will create birth preferences unique to your wants and needs. We can go over coping mechanisms, what's in my doula bag, what should you pack etc.! Additional check-ins may be added specific to your pregnancy, induction prep, cesarean prep etc. at no additional cost. Doulas work closely with many other providers, that way we can best help you if a referral is needed. Whether you're seeking lactation support, chiropractic care, pelvic floor therapy and more. Throughout your pregnancy I encourage you to text me, anytime you have questions, concerns, or updates after an appointment, that way we can continue to develop a close relationship and stay informed. Birth doula support does not replace childbirth education, while we go over information, questions etc, I still highly recommend taking an independent child birth ed series (& I have some great recs!)
On Call time-- 2 weeks before your EDD I will be "on call" for you. This means ringer on, full volume 24/7, staying within 2 hours of your birthing location. When labor begins we will stay in close contact. Once you're ready for support I will quickly join you for in person labor support. Helping support you physically and emotionally (partner too!) and helping advocate and inform along the way during your birth, grabbing photos and videos (if you wish!). I will stay with you immediately after birth for the following hour or two as you adjust and get settled in, helping initial latches, bottles, and answering any other questions you may have. I will continue to offer support and check in via text for the next couple of weeks. At two weeks postpartum we can set up a virtual or in person check in. We can discuss basic newborn care, postpartum mental health and any questions you may have!
